A painter and art educator dedicated to the exploration of connections between painting and architecture, Robert Slutzky focused on how space was created in architecture and implied in painting. He believed that to understand either discipline, you had to understand both. For many years, he was a professor of art and architecture at Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York City and later taught at the University of Pennsylvania.
