Biography from AskART:
| A folk sculptor whom some called "Grandma," she created a fantasy environment from bottles, headlights, and other debris, and embedded it in concrete, constructing thirteen buildings around her trailer. Inside was her collection of dolls, gourds, and other curiosities, and the California Arts Council made a major effort to preserve this construction called "Bottle Village."
