| Born in Salt Lake City, UT on March 3, 1906. A Cherokee, Noonan moved to Los Angeles at an early age. He studied art locally at UCLA, USC, and with Theodore Lukits and Christian Von Schneidau. An auto accident in 1961 left him unable to paint; however, he continued to lecture and write on the art of the American Indian. He was a resident of Los Angeles until his death on Sept. 1, 1982.
