| Painter. Born in Bethlehem, PA on March 12, 1886. Mary Cox was educated at the Bishop Thorp School, and studied music in Paris and Philadelphia. After her marriage to Charles Buffington ended, she married Frederick Maison. By the early 1920s she was living on a ranch in Imperial Valley, CA with her family. Selftaught, she painted in her leisure when not busy with the ranch and four children. After 1926 she exhibited widely in the Southwest and about 1930 settled in Manhattan Beach, CA.
