| An Icelandic-American, she is part of the post-modern artists who are returning to portraiture. She frequently leaves the face without detail, sometimes painting in just the suggestion of features.
Many of her portraits are images of her daughter Temma. The backgrounds of her paintings are blocks of color that clearly hearken to the New York School of Abstract Expressionism. |
