Kevin McCain has been painting since his early childhood, earning prestigious awards and recognition. After winning the Congressional Student Art Competition at the age of seventeen, he made the decision to pursue art as a career.
After high school, Kevin spent two years living in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He spent his time with the people, learning both the language and the culture. Many were amazed at his drawing ability and requested to have their portraits drawn. A number of his drawings stayed in Brazil when he returned to the U.S.A. in 1990.
In the fall of 1990, Kevin attended Utah State University to continue his academic studies. While in college, he continued to win scholarships and awards. After winning a grant from the Utah Watercolor Society, he was approached by the Greystone Gallery. Kevins first, one-man show opened at the Greystone Gallery in Logan, Utah in 1994. (He was a Junior in college.) In the winter of 1995, he won a grant from the Liquitex "Excellence in Art" competition. Later that spring, he graduated from Utah State University with a degree in drawing and painting.
In the fall of 1995, Kevin moved from Utah to Kuna, Idaho, where he currently resides. His works are featured in galleries in Park City, UT, Jackson, WY, Sun Valley, ID, and in Scottsdale, Flagstaff and Tucson, AZ. Kevin works to express himself through his vibrant drawings and paintings--searching to interpret the beauty of the world around him.
