| | Born in Marshalltown, IA on May 19, 1873. Mellish studied with W. E. Tavernier and in Rome where she met artist Raffaelo Montalboddi whom she married about 1900. In 1912 the couple returned to Pasadena where they headed the Stickney Memorial Art School. Mrs. Montalboddi died in Pasadena on Nov. 19, 1916 at age 43.
