The following information wsa compiled and submitted by Nancy Moore: Jean Alphonse Mourlot was born in Marseille on March 4, 1840. He died in the same town April 20, 1913. He was a painter of people as well as a portrait painter. He was a student of Meissonier and made his debut at the Salon in 1869. He was a member from the year 1883. His medals include 3rd class medal in 1881, 2nd class medal in 1882, silver medal in 1889, Knight of the Legion of Honor in 1893. He also won a Bronze medallion in 1900.
The following museums have his works: Aix, Digne, Beziers, Draquiqnan, Montpelier, Nantes.
