The following, submitted November 2002, is from Larry Hupman, who is married to the grand daughter of the artist:
I was reviewing your site and found a piece of art of Stephen Longstreet's
entitled "Fruit" that is supposed to have been painted in 1932. This is erroneous. Chauncey Weiner became Henri Weiner, the Artist, from 1930 to 1939 (see http://www.stephenlongstreet.com).
He was a department store artist from 1930 to 1932. In 1932 he was a cartoonist for "Hooey Magazine", "C (showing 500 of 3388 characters). |
