| | Born in Oakland, CA on Dec. 14, 1917. Raised in an artistic milieu, Beverly first studied art with her father Ed Leslie. After her studies at the CSFA in 1936-39, she assisted her father and taught animal illustration and children's classes at the Student Art Center in Oakland.
