| | Born in Oakland, CA on Dec. 14, 1917. Raised in an artistic milieu, Beverly first studied art with her father Ed Leslie. After her studies at the CSFA in 1936-39, she assisted her father and taught animal illustration and children's classes at the Student Art Center in Oakland. In 1945 she married artist Richard Hackett and soon settled in Nevada City, CA where she is still active as an artist. | Source:
