| | Born in Brooklyn, NY on June 3, 1863. Olivia moved to San Francisco with her family in 1876 and wed James Kingsland, a sea captain. After the death of her husband in the 1880s, she was briefly the wife of a candy manufacturer named Townsend. She was active in the local art scene and maintained a studio in her home at 1518 Franklin. With her daughter, Fannie, she ran an art gallery on Sutter Street and published Variety magazine. Olivia died in San Francisco while lecturing at a women's club on Nov. 9, 1928. Her work includes still lifes and scenes of the Cliff House, Fort Point, and other San Francisco landmarks.
