Biography from AskART:
The following is from the artist, February 2004.

A figurative painter in a style with elements of fantasy and magic realism, Mary Kline-Misol throughout the past decade has created several series of paintings. She has painted large still life compositions using colorful puppets from around the world, then a series of friends, relatives, with a few models encountered during her travels, then works focusing on flowers and elements in nature, and recently a series of real and fictional characters relating to Charles Dodgeson's "Alice Through the Looking Glass".

She has also created decorative panels for historic renovation projects including the Hotel Pattee in Perry, Iowa, as well as to large easel paintings.

A native of Des Moines, Iowa with both her BFA and MFA from Drake University where she studied with Jules Kirschenbaum, Kline-Misol now maintains her studio in Panora, Iowa.
