| | Engraver. Born Carthage, OH on Sept. 17, 1841. Kingsley started an engraving school in 1880. While based in Massachusetts, he was active in California from 1892. In that year he donated a large group of his prints which were being exhibited at the California State Fair to Mary Higgins who then established an art club in his name. He died in Brooklyn, NY on Aug. 28, 1918. Member: Society of Wood Engravers (NYC); Ruskin Art Club (Los Angeles); Kingsley Art Club (Sacramento). Exh: Paris Expo, 1889 (gold medal); World's Columbian Expo (Chicago), 1893 (medal); Calif. Midwinter Expo (SF), 1894 (gold medal).
