| | Born in Placerville, CA on June 29, 1879. Helen Hickok settled in San Francisco with her family in 1884. She studied locally at the School of Design before her marriage to George Ford. As well as an artist, she was also a writer, lecturer, and active in several women’s clubs. She died in San Francisco on Feb. 17, 1960. Member: American Pen Women. | Source:
