Carl Fredrick Elbik was born Oct 29,1896, in Kansas City, Missouri. His parents moved to America from Germany in the 1880's. He had seven brothers and three sisters, one sister, and one brother died young. When he was a
child his throat was run over by a bike, so he ran ten miles to the doctor to
be treated. He fought in the first World War, and had uncles and cousins
