Biography from AskART:
| Active early in his career in Lancaster, Pennsylvania as a portrait
painter, Aaron Eshelman, whose name also appears as Eshleman, kept an
inn until 1857 in Lancaster where his father also was an
innkeeper. Then he moved to Kentucky, where records show him as
early as 1845 until 1874, and he was in Bourbon, Harrison and
Montgomery counties. His work is in the University of Kentucky
Art Museum.
