| | Born in Preston, Cuba on March 15, 1912. Brown lived in Cuba and New Orleans before settling in Chula Vista, CA with her family in 1920. Locally, she studied privately with Alfred Mitchell and at the San Diego Fine Arts Academy under the DeVols and Otto Schneider. During the 1930s she formed a partnership with artist Eugene Taylor and from their studio in Balboa Park came several murals for restaurants and hotels. In 1938 Anita married E. H. Amos and continued to produce prize winning canvases in local exhibitions.
