"Please, note that some times he signed his works 'de Beers', because he thought it to be more artistic and, therefore, more marketable. Alexander Beers lived with his sister, Emma, in Elmhurst, Illinois for many years and worked for the Chicago Civic Opera House painting scenery backdrops.
